Sesshin with Guest Teacher Keido Jeromy Thotland

On July 12th through 14th we have the honor of hosting Guest Teacher Keido Jeromy Thotland to guide a formal Zen retreat (Sesshin). The event will be facilitated by Eido Ramirez as part of Abbeya Foundation’s vision to maintain a Zen community in Bemidji, MN. The event is from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon.
About Keidō Jeromy Thotland:
Keidō is a priest-in-training at MZMC in Minneapolis, MN. He was ordained in 2019 by Ted O’Toole.
Keidō was born and raised in Minneapolis. His life includes experiences in the US Navy, retail, labor union work, and research. He depends on these, including family and sangha life, to remind him of the many ways of being. His focus is on the intersection of the everydayness of life and the everydayness of Zen, and the wonder that each moment can bring.
The Event Schedule:
Friday July 12th at 7pm - 9pm
Saturday July 13th at 5:40am - 9pm
Sunday July 14th at 5:40am - 12pm
Attendance for All Days is Encouraged.
Sleeping Accommodations:
There is limited space available for participants wishing to stay at the Foundation overnight. The available options include sleeping on the floor in the zendo and other meditation space or camping outside. There is access to a single shower that can be used and two bathrooms. Food for Participants:
There will be vegetarian meals served to participants throughout the duration of the retreat. If you have any allergies or specific diet requests, please contact us at: contact@abbeya.org. We will do our best to accommodate for everyone’s dietary needs. We will also send an email with the event details to anyone who registers in advance.
